Crate an automation based on a Form Field

I have forms that have fields in them. I would like to know if there is a way to either:

   1. Base an automation off a Form only field

    2. have a form field linked to a Jira field and please that data in to the Jira field

Currently you can only base an automation on fields in a Form if that field is linked to a Jira field. Forms does have a simple API, which is currently in EAP, so you could use that to get the answers given in the Form and then act on it in an automation.
