Cloning Assets Object Schema and Data to another Jira Instance

Andreas von Euw December 4, 2023

We have multiple Jira DC Instance running and want to keep the Assets Schemas used in sync. What is the easiest way to copy changes from one schema to another Jira Instance?

The official import/export feature does create new Schema Object IDs for the Data. But that's not an option for us. As we are referencing Asset Data from our Issues we can't change the Object Keys.

How do you solve this issue?

Hello @Andreas von Euw

Have you read this documentation article yet? Importing and exporting object schemas

Andreas von Euw December 5, 2023

Yes. I did. But last time using it (a year ago) the import did create new Object IDs and the relations between them. Effectly destroying my Assets on the Target Server. So it was no 1:1 copy of the assets database.

Has this changed in the meantime?

Hi, I'm facing the same challenge. Did you find a way to sync asset schemes in multiple JIRA DC instances?

Andreas von Euw February 4, 2024

Hi Benedikt,
No, as I only had some minor changes I did the sync manually.
