Checkbox to confirm disclaimer in JSM forms (Translation / more caracters)

Dear Experts,

Due to the new legal data protection regulations in Switzerland, we need to include a disclaimer in the forms for support ticket creation by customers using Jira Service Management, which customers need to confirm (checkbox) before submitting.

So far so good. But we have the following requirements:

  • Field name (Disclaimer) of the checkbox in 3-languages = possible
  • Disclaimer text also in 3 languages ?
  • Approx. 500-1000 characters per language ?

Any ideas how to solve this issue?

Best regards

Hi @Daniel Pfeffer ,

You can create your custom field called Disclaimer, checkbox type with one only option: Accept.

Then add this custom field in your JSM request form and paste your entire text in the Display description section ... it could be a long text even with markup if needed ... you will see only one line here but your entire text will be contained.

As result, your final user will see a form like this one and clicking in Show more option, the entire text will be displayed

If this works for you, then you can select in your project settings menu the option Language support:

Add the new languages required:

And clicking on the new added language,  you'll be able to translate all the sections needed for your request forms like form name, custom field names, the entire text translation, etc.

Does it make sense?

Dear Esteban Diaz

Thank you very much for your help. So it worked perfectly and I am happy with the solution.
Although I have also tried this way somehow, I have only now succeeded with the help of your instructions.

Although the option Accept can not be translated (yet), but I helped myself here with a multilingual text.

Thanks again and best regards
