Characters in JSD Queues

In JSD, we have two instances - Test Environment and Production Environment.
In our Test, we can enter special characters in the names of JSD queues e.g. ↳ Waiting on me
When I try to add the same queue name in our Production environment, it comes out as ¿ Waiting on me
I have compared the configs on both and cannot find any difference in the set up.
I have also tried both on different browners etc but no joy.
Anyone have an explanation and/or solution for this?
