Changing priorities in JSM

Jim Stewart

December 15, 2020

Greetings. In our JSM project for HR, they want to change the priorities to Urgent, High, Medium, Low. I figured out where and how to do this. But then it said it would make the change across 109 issues which clued me in to it being global. (Our HR help desk isn't even in production yet and has maybe five test issues.)

I found something on this in online doc but it kept referring to priority scheme that I could modify and associate to a project but I couldn't find priority scheme anywhere.

So where and how can I make those changes (Blocked to Urgent; drop trivial) for this project and ONLY this project? Thanks.

You can't.  Cloud has only one set of priorities.

The documentation you've been reading that refers to priority schemes is for Server, a different product.

One of the challenges for Jira admins is in the selling of ‘limitations’ within the software. This isn’t unique to Jira, as any App has design limitations. We must explain to new users coming on board that, to realize the benefits of new tools we may have to diverge slightly from our current processes. This is the case with prioritizes. We need all projects to settle on common priority names.
