Hello,
I am testing JSM for our non profit. We are currently using google services for email but there's a good chance this will change.
If I setup google sync now and then shift to o365/azure AD - how would users be impacted? It seems it may be better to do a bulk export / import for customer add and then integrate directory services after the decision is executed. Any opinions on this? Obviously it would be nice to auto sync changes in a rapidly growing company but I don't want to get everyone to log in one way, just for it to change later - and I would like to keep ticket continuity with users. While the email addresses will remain the same for users will there be interference if changing in terms of their ability to access older requests / incident reports?
Hello @Helper,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
If you are using GSuite and then change to Azure, the only impact is that users will have to use the “Continue with Google” option or use email and password to log in while you don’t configure SAML with AD.
Also, as an Org administrator, you won’t be able to manage their accounts, unless you verify the domain and claim their accounts.
When you disconnect from G Suite, users permanently stop syncing. Your users can still log in to your products with their Google credentials or log in with Atlassian credentials after they reset their password. However, their details won't sync when you make changes to their Google accounts.
For more details about SAML, please, check the documentation below:
If you have any other questions regarding this matter, please let us know.
Kind regards,
Angélica
