Hi,

Somehow the site name I registered was not through.  

The default site name is team-16074xxxxxxxx.atlassian.net.

How can I change it to CompanyName.atlassian.net?

you cannot. If you were on Standard or greater you could reach out to Atlassian Support and they could assist w/ this but official support isn't available to Free instances.
