Cannot create a linked issue from Jira Service Desk project.

Barbara September 12, 2018

In our software development projects, we require the Affected Version to be entered whenever a bug is submitted.  Since there is no Affected Version field in the Service Desk bug issue we cannot create a linked issue in the development project.  The only work-around that I've found is to create another development project that does not require bugs to have that affected version field populated and then I can create the linked issue in that project and then move to the project that I actually want it to go to.

BTW, I have figured out how to get the "Affected Version" field to appear on the customer portal and on the actual bug screen in the service desk project, but it does not appear on the "Create Linked Issue" screen and when I try to create the linked issue I get this error:  Field Affects Version/s is required.

Thought I was able to fix this by having matching versions in both projects, but that actually did not work.  It seems the issue is with the Create Linked Issue screen.  I cannot figure out how to get the Affected Version field on that screen.
