Can you capture approvals in automation?

In our workflow we would like to add a comment using automation based on the approval actions (Approved, Declined), but in Data Center we do not seem to have this option?

Is there a clever way to do this that anyone can share?

We are on Jira Service Management 5.5.1 and Jira Software 9.5.1.

You should have the "issue transitioned" trigger?

If so, since an approve/decline initiates a issue transition you could use that and add a comment that way

That is true, but unfortunately we have more than one transition to the status following approval. I could just add a temporary label, but I was hoping for a built-in function tied to the approval function :)
