Can we send SMS from Jira service management?

Use case:

-- Whenever an issue is created/updated related to a Customer, we would like to send an SMS to the Customer ( mobile no provided ) from Jira Service management ( Server/DC)'s Issue screens.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks @Brant Schroeder . Do you have any suggestion for a specific app which could address our requirement ( for SERVER/DC version)?

I believe that the only option for server is JEMH. It is a very robust app and has been around for a long time. You should start there.
