Can cloud URLs have xxxx.jira.com instead of xxxx.atlassian.com? and what is the difference between these domains?

Hi Reshma,

Unfortunately, you can't do that. We don't provide Cloud instances on the jira.com domain for a while now. Only some old Cloud instances still uses the jira.com domain.

We cant change Cloud JIRA URL's from xxxx.atlassian.com to xxxx.jira.com as per atlassian policy.

There is already open request for the same.

This is not a request to change the URL. I am just asking whether cloud Jira can have URL like xxxxxx.jira.com? is it valid cloud Jira if it's jira url has domain .jira.com?

If yes, how  xxxxx.jira.com is different from xxxxx.atlassian.com? what is the difference between them?

Hi @Reshma Padkil ,

Cloud jira dont have URL like xxxx.jira.com. It is only accessible at companyname.atlassian.net

If you have a cloud jira instance then in this case your URL will be a atlassian server URL which will be given to you after purchasing. All atlassian cloud sites enforce SSL by default and are hosted in a secure hosting facility. 

But if you have server then you can use other Domain as well but again you need to take care of all like SSL certificates, network related issues.
