Can I make a REST API call from a Jira SD screen fields to upload an attachment

Use case:
We have an attachment in a Request/Issue type in Jira Service desk screen.
We need to add a button into the above screen to make a REST API call through which we want to upload/send the attached document to that REST API.
Need assistance in this as I am new to Jira.
NOTE: Looking forward for any help available.
