Best Practices for setting up Demand Management in Jira Service Management

I'm looking for best practices in setting up Service Management for Demand Management - workflows, checklists, groups, etc.  I want to make sure i can automate as much as possible and take into account various gates for moving through engagement, to assessment, review, approval, etc.
