Automation - link the issue to where I manually triggered the rule

I want to manually trigger a rule from an issue to create a new issue, and have the new issue automatically linked to the issue I triggered the rule from. The Add Link to "triggerissue" does not work I assume because the rule isn't actually being triggered from the original issue, it's being triggered manually.

It should still work, as the manual trigger is still related to that trigger issue.

This worked for me:

  • Trigger: Manual trigger from issue
  • Action: Create Issue
    • Project = Same project
    • Issue Type = Same issue type
    • Fields...
      • Summary = Summary Here
      • Linked Issues...
        • Type = clones
        • Issue = Trigger Issue

Could you specify what you mean by "the add link to triggerissue does noet work"?

Usually it is possible to add the Linked Issues field to your create issues operation and indeed refer to the trigger issue. As far as I remember, I've seen that work. But from your description, I can't make up for sure if you tried doing it this way or refer to something else.
