we don't get it working that Jira Automation sets the assignee of a new created issue to the person that we want.
To be more precise:
We have ticket A - parent of ticket B.
Ticket B triggers automation rule by transition to specific status.
Ticket C is being created in this automation rule.
So, we want that Ticket C gets the reporter of Ticket A as assignee when the rule gets triggered by Ticket B.
We tried it with smart values, e.g. {{triggerIssue.parent.reporter}} or {{triggerIssue.parent.reporter.DisplayName}}, but we always get the error message:

Are these issues in a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project?
If you tried to create the Purchase issue type in the Administration project manually, using the Create button from the menu bar, is the Assignee field available in the Create Issue dialog?

We are using company-managed projects and no, the Assignee field is not added to the Create Screen. Could that be the issue? I'll try it.
