I duplicated an existing workflow to assigned it to a new ticket category.
The existing workflow assign automatically the request to my supervisor for approval, when I duplicate it, the status of the new ticket is "Pending approval" without being assigned to anyone, I'm doing it manually every time
Any idea why it's not working?

There might be an automation rule for the original ticket category that automatically set your supervisor as the approver.
Quick confirmation; what do you mean by 'assigning the request' to your approver? Because the JSM native approval function does not require tickets to be assigned for approvals, just that the 'approvers' field is set correctly.
