Asset Dashboard Question

Raheem Pillay
December 18, 2025

Hello,

Am messing around with the asset dashboard and I was wondering if the following is possible.

Say I have a widget showing me the number of in stock laptops we have in a bar chart. Is it possible to have some sort of indication or alert that tells me when in stock goes below a certain number.

So say I had in stock Laptops go below 10. Could I visualise this in some way on a dashboard.

Thanks

Hi,

Assets dashboards:

  • cannot define thresholds
  • cannot trigger visual alerts
  • have no conditional formatting

So ther eis no built-in "alert when cound < X" visualization in Assets itself.

As a workaround, you could create a scheduled automation rule to notify you when this happens:

  1. Scheduled automation rule
  2. Use Lookup objects: objectType = "Laptop" AND Status = "Available"
  3. Use {{lookup.Objects.size}}
  4. Condition: {{lookup.Object.size}} < 10
  5. Action: Send email notification or send chat notification or add a comment to a tracking work item

Thank you, we will look into the workaround :)

HI @Raheem Pillay ,

While you can automate the solution for one asset, if you need an overall view over your assets you can use Assets History Reporter for Jira , an app released by our company.

You can search and export your data.
