Asking solution for calendar view

Kevin Vancrutsen

Hello,

I need an additional tool for tracking tickets in our space. Specifically, we need to be able to create an alert system for tickets with due dates (start and/or end).
Our space is used extensively by workers who are constantly in the field and only have a smartphone. The Jira mobile app does not have a calendar view.
Is there no solution for linking to the Outlook calendar, for example?

Kind regards,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Our Microsoft 365 for Jira app may offers what you're looking for.
You can display calendars directly within your Jira projects - including both Jira issue data and Outlook calendar data side by side. Here’s an overview: Calendar: Work with Outlook calendars in Jira

Depending on your use case, we also offer the ability to schedule Outlook meetings directly from within Jira issues, and those meetings will automatically be linked to the ticket: Meetings: Schedule meetings with your team from Jira

Just as a note: I work for yasoon, the company behind this app.
If you’re interested, I’d be happy to show you everything in a live demo, feel free to book a slot here: Meet Microsoft 365 for Jira

We’d also love to hear more about your specific use case to see how we can best support your team, especially with mobile workers in the field.

Kind regards,
Patrick

Hi Kevin,

Just to share an option that might help you. Our app Calendar for Jira actually works inside the Jira mobile app on iOS through the calendar gadget on dashboards. A lot of teams use it this way, so even if someone only has a phone, they still get a proper calendar view for all issues with dates.

On top of that, you can export any set of issues to an external calendar. It works with Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or any client that supports ICS subscriptions. That way your team can see their Jira dates in the calendar app they already use every day.

If you want, I can walk you through how to set it up, it’s pretty quick.

Hello @Kevin Vancrutsen

Instead of using the calendar, I would suggest setting an automation rule with an example setup

  • Trigger: Scheduled for everyday (you can change this as well)
  • Condition: JQL project = "project name here" AND assignee = currentUser() AND duedate <=7d
  • Action: Send customized email - for Recipient choose Assignee

For email you can define the {{issue.key}} smart value so the user knows which work items are in due date.

Users using mobile would receive an email on their phone.
