Approval Process

I have been asked to add a two stage approval process to my JSM for Procurement and Change requests.  The idea would be the reporter would need to have their manager initially approve the request before it can then be approved by the team.

I am able to add the additional level of approval to the workflow and specify the field that is used for this (not the approvers field but a custom field).  I create a ticket in the portal and specify someone else and then manually add myself as the manager approver, then add someone directly to the second level.  The problem is when I approve the request through the portal or through JSM it bypasses the second level of approval.

I have tried removing all transitions from the initial approval but by passes the second level - any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I figured out the issue and it was essentially not paying attention when setting up the approval process within the workflow.  Simply changing the status or what happens when the first level is approved to the next approval status solved the issue.
