Adding new email customer email addresses without first adding as a JIRA user

Is it possible to add new customer email addresses to the reporter field, without having to add them as a JIRA user first?

@Aaron Catt, I’m unsure of you goal here. When you add customers using their email it will create them as a “Customer” user type. Is there some reason you don’t want to add them as a user. For example maybe your goal is to not send the welcome email until you are ready to do so? If so, AFAIK, that is not possible. At least that is the case on Cloud.

Hi @Jack Brickey, we are wanting to input new customer emails directly when adding the email address to the reporter field, so it automatically creates the user. At the moment, we have to first add the email address as a JIRA user, and then choose them in the reporter field.

this cannot be done. to add someone to the reporter field they must first be a defined user.
