Adding a description to already created custom field doesn't work properly

Hi Team,

I have created a custom field(select list) with name "Testing" but did not add description while creating the custom field. custom field was working perfectly.

Now, I tried to add the description to the existing custom field "Testing" as "Testing description". Custom field now shows a new added "Description" text under the custom field in create/edit screen but in the view screen, usually description will show as a tool tip/i button link when we click. 

but now description is not showing in i button next to custom field. kindly help!
