Our organization uses a specific domain so that only users with an email address of this domain can login the jira cloud site or create a ticket by sending an email
The organization wants to add a new domain (without deleting the previous one).
I am trying to follow the steps for adding a domain and when trying to verify the new domain i am asked to add a verification method. As we want to use the same verification method that is used on the first domain, how can i find the verification method of the first domain?
Hi @Aggeliki K
Where are you trying to adjust this?
Where is the previous domina listed?
This should be in the global customer access settings under the Jira Apps setting in the administration of Jira.
Hello @Aggeliki K ,
You can’t reuse the verification itself, but you can use the same verification method.
To see how the first domain was verified:
Go to Admin → Security → Domains
Click on the already verified domain
In the domain details, Atlassian will show how it was verified (for example, DNS (TXT record))
When you add the new domain, select the same verification method and complete the verification for that domain as well. Each domain must be verified separately, even if the method is the same.
No need to delete or replace the existing domain — multiple verified domains can coexist in the same organization.

Hello @Ugnius Aušra and thank you for your response.
I can understand what you are saying, but I cannot find domain details.

No problem — the domain details are a bit hidden in the UI.
From the Domains page:
Click directly on the domain name itself (the blue text), not the three-dot menu
This opens the domain details page
Scroll down to Verification methods
There you’ll see how the domain was verified.
That’s where Atlassian shows the verification method used for the existing domain.
When you add a new domain, you can choose the same method and verify it separately.
Hope that helps!

Thank you @Ugnius Aušra
I finally found the verification method.
Could you please tell me if when adding the domain the users of this domain will be able to login as users (not agents) in the customer portal?

So for customers go to Jira Apps -> Customer access -> And if you have marked down, that only allow account creation for customers with specific email domains.
Here you can administrate, from which domains customers can login to your customer portal.

Okay got it, then in App access settings, you have to add which domains can access your customer portal.
When you add there domain, you don't need to approve or do verification methods.

Ok, but they are not external customers , they are employees at our company.
So in customer access I add them to approved domains, below Internal, right?

Yes, you are right. They are still customers, not agents, just from your company.
