Up until the last week or so, I had been able to paste images from clipboard into comments in JIRA tickets without issues, across browsers (Chrome/IE).
Recently, this has stopped working, such that I can paste and preview the image that should be attached within a comment, but the "Upload" button remains in a disabled state. Pasting images into the description likewise encounters the same symptom.
I can still save an image and attach it that way, but that is super inefficient and is making core workflows very painful.
I'm on Windows 10 Pro version 10.0.17134 Build 17134. Chrome Version 70.0.3538.77.
Help?
Hi Angelica,
I've waited over 5 min and the button remains disabled. Have attached output from the browser console in screenshot. The only thing that prints on pasting image in the modal is the last line in the attached screenshot:
AJS's create element functionality has been deprecated since 5.9.0.
No alternative will be provided.
Use document.createElement() or jQuery.parseHTML(), or preferably use a templating library.
The rest of the console info above that prints when just loading any JIRA ticket in the browser.
Hi Colin,
I've tested on a laptop using Win10 and the latest version of Chrome and it works normally.
Would it be possible to test using an incognito window?
I saw that you are using some extensions on your browser, so it would be great to disable the extensions or test using incognito.

Angélica

Hi Angelica - tried in Incognito, same issue. Any clarity on whether the message in console means anything?

Hi Colin,
Does it work when using Firefox?
Would it be possible to disable the add-ons, clear the cache and test on Chrome?
Are you the only user facing this issue?
Can you update Chrome and Windows?

Angélica

Hi Angelica,
Amazingly this seems to have self-resolved. Tried pasting today (Chrome), and it is working. Haven't cleared my cache since your November message, but I do see Chrome auto-updated to a new version (I think in Dec): Version 71.0.3578.98
Maybe there was something with Chrome Version 70.0.3538.77 causing this issue.
Thanks, this can be closed I think.

Hi Colin,
I've tested here using MacOs and the button takes a while (about 5-7 seconds) but it appears.
Just for us to better understand what is happening, can you please open the developer tools on your browser and check if some error appears while you are pasting the image in the comment box?
Regards,
Angélica
