Copying views from one product discovery project into another

I want to import the pre-built views into an existing Product Discovery project.  I can't see how to do this.

Alternatively, could I merge two product Discovery projects to keep the views from each?  I don't want to have to rebuild the views each time I have a new PD project.

Hey @Emily Ekenstam  👋 as far as I know right now, there’s no way to copy views between existing Jira Product Discovery projects or merge projects to keep views. Views are project-specific.

Unfortunately the only thing u can do is when creating a new JPD project, reuse an existing project’s configuration (fields, views, workflows, roles). Just choose “Reuse a project configuration” during project creation. This is the easiest way to keep your pre-built views for new projects.

For now, the only workaround is manually recreating views or starting new projects from a reused configuration.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Emily Ekenstam ,

Thank you for this feedback, you've described a pain point we've heard consistently and have been working hard to solve.

Global Views for Jira Product Discovery is now live for Premium customers. It lets admins create a view once and standardise it across many JPD spaces, so your teams no longer need to manually recreate the same view configuration in every new project. Set up your standard Roadmap, Backlog, or Planning view once, and it's consistently available across all your spaces from day one.

Full announcement and setup guide: Now Live: Global Views for Jira Product Discovery

Specifically relevant to what you described:

  • Define a view template once, no more rebuilding the same columns, filters, and groupings in every project

  • Admins can roll out standard views across all spaces in their organisation

  • Changes to a Global View propagate consistently, so you don't need to update each space separately

We'd love to hear what you think once you've had a chance to try it. If there are parts of your use case it doesn't yet cover, please do let us know.

Thanks again for helping us prioritise this!
