As you most likely are aware, we released Atlassian Backup and Restore in February of 2026 to allow you to seamlessly back up data for your Jira and Confluence apps from admin.atlassian.com. Backup and restore is designed to protect against customer-owned disasters originating from your organization and support your internal and external compliance mandates, enabling you to get your business operations back up and running in hours, not months, when/if an incident occurs.

Introducing a new closed beta

Going forward, we’re expanding backup and restore to support more customers with larger datasets. We’re excited to share that we’ve recently launched a closed beta, unlocking higher database and attachment limits for customers who are within the new expanded size limits.

Current paid size limits and expanded closed beta size limits:

These expanded size limits will not impact the current pricing of backup and restore.

Backup and restore extended size limits closed beta eligibility

Any customer who has already purchased Backup and Restore does not qualify for the closed beta, as you are already covered by our current size limits.
