As a paid addon it will need to be competitive with the current marketplace solutions. As the current state of information regarding the functionality does not give the impression of being able to replace a current external solution, will at least the price be low enough to be chosen anyways?

It's very kind of you guys to deprecate a feature (Backup Manager API capabilities) then turn around and charge us for the same feature.  And to think the Product Owner thought it would be good idea to pull that with a critical function to all companies (backups).  Very shameful.

Is there any ETA for GA and does this open for tiers other than Enterprise plan?

Also, does it come with feature that backup / restore granularly for selected items?

I am reaching out to the Engineering team regarding the upcoming "New Experience" features for backup and restore. While we welcome advancements like automated scheduling and permission restoration, we strongly request that these capabilities be included as a standard entitlement for Premium Cloud subscriptions, rather than being offered as a separate paid add-on.

This necessity stems from critical challenges within the currently supported backup strategy for Cloud sites running both Jira and Confluence. The existing strategy fails for mixed-product environments due to fundamental inconsistencies:

Blocked Permission Restoration: The system requires a full site import to restore permissions. However, Atlassian blocks full site imports into existing Cloud sites that contain both Jira and Confluence. This means the documented path to restore permission integrity for a Confluence site is unavailable to us.

Lack of Automation: The recommended alternative, individual space exports, cannot be automated as there is no official API for bulk downloading. This makes the strategy resource-intensive and impractical for large-scale operations.

Reliable backup is a Core Platform Expectation. The features being introduced are not niche customizations; they represent the baseline expectation for disaster recovery. The ability to reliably secure and restore data, maintaining essential security and access controls, is core platform functionality, not an optional feature to be purchased separately. We urge the team to view these New Experience features as the necessary solution to the current documented operational gaps. We should not be required to pay an additional fee to achieve a standard level of data integrity and protection.

We seek clarity on how the team plans to incorporate these essential automated and permission-preserving features into the standard Premium offering. A robust, viable backup solution is a prerequisite for continued platform adoption and trust.
