Jira Align synchronisation to Jira Cloud

Hi team - currently we're using Jira Align and Jira 'data centre'/on-prem which has a lot of drawbacks when it comes to the sync between the 2 tools as following:

1. If I create a story in Jira then convert it to a bug/task any other issue type in Jira it would still appear as a story in Jira Align 

2. The discussion section in Jira Align on a story/feature and any text from it does not synchronise to the comments section in Jira

+ many other sync challenges

Does migration from Jira (data centre/on prem) to Jira Cloud fixes this issue or there are still issues with how the 2 tools synchronise with one another ? Would like an opinion from other users that might be in a similar 'boat' Many thanks

No, changing Jira issues from one issue type to another will not update the issue type in Jira Align for Cloud or On-Prem.  This can create some user confusion, so it is best to proactively monitor for these.  To do this, I wrote a simple API app that shows these types of discrepancies but that might be overkill for you, so maybe try the "Jira Deleted Issues" report from within Jira Align?
