Hey Bitbucket community! đź‘‹
Welcome back to the Bitbucket Digest. This is your go-to spot for the latest news on Bitbucket Data Center and Cloud. Ranging from handy resources to help your team plan ahead to sneak peeks at where Bitbucket is headed. Whether this is your first time reading or you caught last month's, glad you’re here.
In this issue, we’re sharing the new features in Data Center 10.2 LTS, introducing a new Bamboo migration tool that’s now in open beta, and giving you a first look at agentic workflows coming to Cloud. Let’s dive in!
In March, we announced that Bitbucket Data Center 10.2 LTS is now available. This release brings merge queues, a responsive mobile UI for pull request reviews, and deeper Jira Cloud integration, plus the extended security patches and stability updates that come with every LTS release. Planning a CI/CD migration can feel like a bigger lift than it needs to be. If you're running Bamboo today, the Bamboo to Bitbucket Pipelines migration tool is now in open beta, and it gives you a clear picture of what moving to Cloud would actually involve, handling a lot of the tricky parts so you're not starting from scratch.
Here’s how the Bamboo to Bitbucket Pipelines Migration Tool can help:
Audit your Bamboo footprint and flag complexity upfront for things like custom plugins, parallel stages, and deployment environments
Forecast costs with recommended runner sizes so there are no surprises
Migrate automatically by converting your Bamboo plans to Bitbucket Pipelines YAML, dramatically reducing manual effort
It's also open source, so you can extend it for custom plugins.
This offering is in open beta, and we're actively iterating based on your feedback.
Give it a try and let us know what you think in the community.
CI/CD is evolving beyond just making builds, tests, and deployments faster. It now includes automating the parts around writing code that are straightforward but time-consuming, easy to defer until later but painful when they pile up.
Agentic Pipelines offers a new way to delegate tasks: You know the list: documentation that drifts with every refactor, feature flags left behind after launch, release notes pieced together at the last minute, and security findings that quietly stack up. According to IDC, developers spend about 84% of their day on non-coding tasks. It's the work that matters but never quite makes the sprint, until it piles up into tech debt you pay for later.
Agentic Pipelines is now in open beta for teams with a paid Bitbucket Cloud plan that includes Rovo Dev seats.
Six use cases are live today:
Keeping READMEs in sync with your code
Fixing security vulnerabilities before they pile up
Cleaning up feature flags after a feature ships
Generating release notes as part of your pipeline
Summarizing PRs for faster reviews
Improving test coverage by finding gaps and closing them
More is on the way, including Claude Code CLI support.
We’re really excited to see the ways you’ll use Agentic Pipelines!

Atlassian engineering teams were waiting 18 hours on average for the first review comment on a PR. By adopting Rovo Dev as an automated first reviewer on every PR, they cut that wait to zero and reduced overall PR cycle time by 45%. The full post breaks down exactly how they did it, and what it could mean for teams dealing with review backlogs and stretched senior engineers.
Security vulnerabilities sitting in the backlog. Minor bugs that never quite make the sprint. This on-demand session shows how Rovo Dev in Jira handles that category of work in the background so your engineers can stay focused on the problems that actually need them.
If you're thinking about what AI-assisted developer workflows could look like for your team, this is a practical place to start.
