There used to be a Confluence macro called '{popular}' which would allow you to put up a dynamic table, which shows the "most popular" (most viewed) pages in the last few days/weeks/months.

This macro is extremely useful to add to home pages, for easier navigation for users. Best of all, it was dynamic and required no manual updating.

However, following a Confluence upgrade to 5.9.5,, that macro broke (no longer shows anything), and seems to be gone entirely. Is there a way to get it back? Is it available as an add-on somewhere? My team loved this macro and would love to have it back! Thank you very much!

Hello Matt!

The macro called popular is a part of the Confluence Usage Tracking Plugin, and that plugin is disabled by default since Confluence 3.0 since it has known performance problems in large installations (You can refer to this link for documentation). To be able to use it, you need to re-enable it.

Here is how you can enable it:

  1. As a user with administrative privileges, click the Manage add-ons link in the administration menu.
  2. Show All add-ons

  3. Find the Confluence Usage Stats add-ons and click the Enable button.

Hopefully this can help you, and I wish you a good day!
