Unable to communicate with server - when putting Task List

Daniel Niechoda May 12, 2019

Hi Guys,

When putting Task List [] on any page and trying to save it I am getting :

"Unable to communicate with server. Saving is not possible at the moment."

message, when I remove Task List [] item pages saves without any problem

I am using Self hosted (Linux Ubuntu 16.04LTS Server) Confluence server 6.15.3

- I have tried it on different pages (exisiting and newly created)

- I have restarted confluence server

- I do not get any other errors (I am aware of) confluence seems to be working fine

- nothing or not much in catalina.out logs

Any suggestions ?

Regards

Daniel

Update :

I have found cause for that behaviour and fixed it.

in my MySQL database config mysql.cnf I had line

sql_mode = NO_AUTO_VALUE_ON_ZERO

which should not have been there.

I have found it by simply going to "Troubleshooting and support tools" in "Confluence administration" and checking  "Instance health"

Clearly end user (me) configuration error.

Hi @Kiran Panduga {Appfire}

Thank you for your suggestion, I have switched off  Collaborative Editing but it did not help.

I have tested as well using Chrome incognito mode as well as Safari, both browsers are giving me same error.

I have checked if Collaborative Editing works (after switching it on ) and it seems to be working fine, I can see changes/edits in progress.

Regards

Daniel

Hi @Daniel Niechoda ,

The issue seems to be related to Collaborative Editing, Can you try disabling and enabling the Collaborative Editing feature.

Confluence administration > General Configuration > Under 'Administration' > Collaborative Editing

You can also refer to this existing community question

Thanks,

Kiran.
