I have the same issue as the one described in the link below dated 2015.

"I am trying to create a global report with a lot of dynamic information from multiple people.  The problem I am running into is that I need to pull portions of pages from multiple confluence pages.  I know I can pull in a specific page, and I know I can pull in an except.  The problem is that I need to define and pull in portions of pages from all over the place (meaning pages all throughout confluence).  Anyone know how I can do this?"

Is there a free solution to this please? I am unable to use the options pof Metadata Plugin or multiple excerpts. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Cheers,

Suman

I think you have misunderstood the problem on the question you have linked to, although I would say that the original question is very unclear.

In that question, Joe was trying to get many bits of one page drawn into another.  To do that, you need the multi-excerpt macro add-on.

The part of the question you quote however is "The problem is that I need to define and pull in portions of pages from all over the place (meaning pages all throughout confluence)."

To do that, place the excerpt macro around the piece on each page you want to pull from, and then excerpt-include on the page you want them to appear on.

Hi Nic, thanks a lot for your response. Much appreciated. :)

Perhaps you are right so I will try and explain my issue and seek your assistance.

What I am trying to do is pull similar info from tables in multiple pages and show it on one page as a monthly status. The info I am trying to pull is available on these pages n the same table structure. I am preparing a consolidated view of three columns from these tables. I tried to use the 'Page properties" macro and it pulled only the rows /columns.

E.g.: Excuse the noivice method below.

Page 1 has a table :

         Feature Date Release Team .....

Row 1

Row 2

Row3

Page 2 , Page 3, Page 4 has the same headers but the number of rows may differ.

Now I am trying to pull info from Page 1,2,3,4,5..... into a Master Page which will do the following:

1. Pull specified Column from the pages 1,2,3,4 etc - provide a snapshot

2. Update as and when a new child page is added and update the table on the Master page

I tried using the excerpt but then 1 excerpt can pull info from only 1 excerpt container table and pulling all columns. If I use multiple excerpts on the Master, it works but I have two challenges -

1. pulling selective colums

2. how do I built in the excerpt container for future pages without manually doing this everytime a bnew page is added

Thanks in advance for your inputs,

Cheers,

Suman

Including columns needs add-ons, as the excerpt only works on blocks of content (i.e. the whole table!).

For future pages, I'd build a page template that has the excerpt setup you need and some instructional text for the users using it.
