Is it possible to watch an individual attachment, rather than an entire page?

Does functionality exist that allows a user to watch an individual attachment without having to watch an entire page?

Hallo Stephanie

It's not possible to watch an individual attachment. I've also searched in the Atlassian Marketplace for add-ons that may do this, and haven't found any.

As an alternative, you could add a label to the attachment, and then build an RSS feed that returns results for all attachments with that label.

See the docs on building an RSS feed: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Using+the+RSS+Feed+Builder

I haven't tried it, but it should work. Let us know how it goes. :)

Cheers, Sarah

Thank you, Sarah. The RSS idea might be useful for general tracking, but I am not sure it would provide the type of alerts we are looking for if an attachment is updated or changed. Even if we sorted by recently updated, it would be a passive mechanism rather than an active one with an alert. But we'll give it a whirl.
