How to insert a non-breaking space?

Using Confluence Cloud (as of 07-2019), I cannot find a way to insert a non-breaking space between two words.

I tried

• finding a "Symbol" panel referenced in some other questions: this panel does not seem to exist anymore
  • in other words, I did read https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/How-do-I-insert-a-non-breaking-space/qaq-p/285346 and the current question is not a duplicate
• using the usual Windows shortcuts (alt + 0 1 6 0 and alt + 255)
• writing a litteral  
  • this " " appears litteraly in the published content

I'd like to avoid installing an app in order to edit the underlying markup.
