SUMMARY:
Our Confluence Users cannot edit/modify existing User Created Confluence Templates nor have full functionality of creating those new Templates within their space.

Here is a screenshot of our Issue with CONFLUENCE’s TEMPLATE PAGE Capability within a Space’s Content Tools setting.

  1. Creating/Editing a Template has a GRAY background instead of White Background when editing a normal page. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but it could be part of the bug and restricting functionality.
  2. Cannot add “new” Macros onto a Template using the “Insert more content” button. Cannot edit existing Macros on the Template nor delete them. (In order to delete a MACRO on a Template, Users usually need to delete the whole “page section”).
  3. Overlapping of Text and Macros cause Usability Issues. When this “Overlap” happens, I cannot edit nor observe what existing Macros were being used while in EDIT MODE.

Undesired/Current Workaround: User will have to publish the template page as a new page on their Confluence Space and then manually re-create/copy necessary edits since the Template itself cannot be edited properly.

I have attempted to add a photo of the issue that I'm having but it hasn't taken. I did find this link to a similar issue here: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-questions/Unable-to-use-macro-when-editing-template-page/qaq-p/964304

To my knowledge, the data center version of Confluence hasn't been updated to fix this bug. Do we have any updates on that?
