SUMMARY:
Our Confluence Users cannot edit/modify existing User Created Confluence Templates nor have full functionality of creating those new Templates within their space.
Here is a screenshot of our Issue with CONFLUENCE’s TEMPLATE PAGE Capability within a Space’s Content Tools setting.
- Creating/Editing a Template has a GRAY background instead of White Background when editing a normal page. Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but it could be part of the bug and restricting functionality.
- Cannot add “new” Macros onto a Template using the “Insert more content” button. Cannot edit existing Macros on the Template nor delete them. (In order to delete a MACRO on a Template, Users usually need to delete the whole “page section”).
- Overlapping of Text and Macros cause Usability Issues. When this “Overlap” happens, I cannot edit nor observe what existing Macros were being used while in EDIT MODE.
Undesired/Current Workaround: User will have to publish the template page as a new page on their Confluence Space and then manually re-create/copy necessary edits since the Template itself cannot be edited properly.
