Hi, to the community!
I would like to create a full documentation (custom welcome page, getting started page, etc.) but only available fur jira service desk customers - to limit access to the documentation only to registered customers.
I am aware of the knowledge base functionality where you can link a confluence space, and have pages (articles) from this space searched for at the Service desk.
Is this somehow possible? Currently the options I found are:
1) Use Conflunce space linked with the service desk, but only in "knowledge base" approach (user needs to search for an article, no fully custom welcome or getting started page with navigation).
2) Make completle public space (can't limit for customer only access).
3) Buy Confluence license for every client.
Thank you for your answers.
Martin,
It's not possible to open up anything on Confluence besides the linked space to unlicensed Jira Service Desk Customers.
There is a feature request below that applies to your need:
This would extend the functionality available in Confluence to unlicensed users, such as search.
For now, I would recommend just linking the space and allowing anyone with an account on the instance to access that space. The functionality in Confluence would be limited but they can still access the space directly and read the content from it; they just won't be able to search it within Confluence. The only search possible is via the Customer Portal.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Regards,
Shannon
