Audio Briefings in Confluence mobile app in German

Bryan Brocker

I've noticed, that audio briefings are available in the browser version of Confluence now and even though with a slight English accent, are read in German. Thank you very much for this great feature!

Unfortunately, on my mobile app (Android) where I've been using this feature for a while already to listen to briefings while on the go, this feature doesn't work yet: the briefing are available only in English.

I've tested this on the same confluence pages. Therefore there can not be any differences in the general confluence settings, the space settings or my personal profile. I also double checked the app settings (which I set to the language German). Still didn't help.

Is there an additional setting I'm missing somewhere? Or is this an known app bug which will be fixed in the (hopefully near) future?

Hello @Bryan Brocker

German is officially supported for Audio Briefings, but the output is tied directly to your "Atlassian account profile settings"

If you're still hearing English, start by verifying that your profile language, Confluence UI, and mobile device are all set to German. It’s also worth making sure your app is fully updated, as these AI features are frequently being refined (in my experience like all the time actually)

Keep in mind that "Narration"  (reading the page) and "Audio Briefing"  (the AI summary) are handled differently. If the briefing works in German on the web but defaults to English on mobile, it’s likely a sync issue. If that's the case, you should reach out to Atlassian Support with your site URL and app version so they can check why your mobile profile isn't triggering the right language.

Thanks for your quick answer, @Arkadiusz Wroblewski

I'm asking specifically for "Audio Briefings", which works well (i.e. delivers in German language) in the browser version (ironically also when launched from my mobile device), but doesn't work (i.e. only delivers in English), when launched out of my mobile app. The phone language is German, as is the app setting (which I even set to German specifically, instead of leaving it on default phone language). I also re-installed the latest version of the app (currently 5.14.0.27).

As mentioned before, I'm ruling out the general Confluence, Space and Profile settings, since these are shared between browser and mobile app version (I still double check as far as a I could - all set specifically to German).

Can you elaborate, what you mean by it possibly being a sync issue?

@Bryan Brocker

What I meant by “sync issue” was not that your page or space settings are wrong. I meant that the native mobile app may not be using the same language context / generated briefing state as the browser experience. Well that's expected, AI features are actually during active ”Baking”.

Try hit and mention directly Atlassian Team there.
