Anyone alive here?

Hi!

Just wanted to check in about the developments of Databases.
We saw big potential to catch some really good use cases in our system, but are currently missing some vital features in order to make them work decently.

Looks like Databases were all the hype, but silently died in favour of the AI orgasms..

What is to be expected in the near-future for Databases, should i wait out the features, or start looking for alternatives?

I second the emotion. There's huge potential, but we need some dev. Things I'd love to see here:

  1. Inclusion in Space export
  2. Change log/rollback ability
  3. Ability to have columns that autopopulate from Page Properties, similar to how the Page Status field can (this one would unlock a whole universe of use cases)
  4. API for read-only external queries

Even AI can benefit from clean APIs; and, it should be the biggest issue impeding true Databases adoption.  Lots of false starts, only to find this is inhibiting.

If Atlassian were using AI effectively themselves, they should be able to speed up getting to this.

I agree.
Databases has much potential, but with their current basic and limited functionality there is just no real use in it for us.

So far the best use case I've seen from my colleagues is the one who organizes their chilli plants with it.

I find them useful for organizing some information that I want to display in different ways throughout my space. I use one for a basic product roadmap that has headline info and links to Jira and a main Confluence page. It's useful to show in a table, with the different views, in some places and to call out specific rows in others.

My main issue is how the data is presented when embedded. It's very bulky and busy, with too few options to customize. I would use it more if I could control the presentation better.
