Atlassian is rolling out a new navigation experience starting March 17, 2025, across Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Jira Service Management, Confluence, and Atlassian Home. The update aims to improve usability, making it easier to navigate and customize your workspace efficiently.
Key Changes in the New Navigation
- Sidebar Navigation: Work seamlessly across multiple projects and spaces with a sidebar-first navigation approach.
- Customization Options: Reorder, hide, and show essential navigation items to suit your workflow.
- Quick Access Features: Find frequently used projects, spaces, dashboards, and filters faster with the For You, Recent, and Starred sections.
- AI Chat and Utility Enhancements: Access notifications, settings, and account management more intuitively.
- Project and Space Management: Admins can easily locate and modify project or space settings directly within the interface.
Phased Rollout and Opt-In Process
The new navigation will be introduced in phases, allowing users to opt in before it becomes the default experience. Admins can choose to enable the update site-wide or allow users to try it individually. Once activated for Confluence site-wide, reverting to the old navigation will not be possible.
