Missing data in the List view of Event Timeline

Hello,

we've observed missing data in the List view for Event Timeline.

As you can see, events are visible for a component in the Timeline view:

But the List view is empty:

Is this a bug, please?

Hi, @martin_wirth !

Traditionally, the Timeline view had been different from the List view that focused on a subset of the most frequent events, but if you look at the underlying query that both views make to the open Compass GraphQL API, they were brought to relative parity recently (with some small differences regarding events on dependencies and time-range filtering).

Could you share some additional information about the only even present in your Timeline view that is not appearing in the List view? The time of the event, and the type of the event would be of especial interest, understanding that is currently grouped under "other" events.

Hi there, @martin_wirth following up on my colleague's answer, we are actually rolling out changes to include all component types in the list view now! Previously, the list view only included Alerts, Deployments, and Incidents, but will now have all event types including Custom. You should see it as we progressively roll out over the next day or two and monitor for any errors.

Thank you for your interest in this feature! If you send along your cloud Id or site domain, I can add you to the rollout right away if you would like to try it out!

Best,

Patrick

This might depend on the type of event. From the first screenshot you it seems you're using some custom event. 👀

I've tried testing it with alerts and incidents and both of those are visible on Timeline and in List view.

But yeah, you'd probably expect to see the same thing in both views, just in a different 'format.'
Atlassian folks might have more info on that.

Hi @martin_wirth , thanks for your post.

Having a look at the documentation - https://support.atlassian.com/compass/docs/maintain-components/ , I wonder if you have to zoom out / go up a level from the single component / service to be able to see anything in list view.

I agree it's not clear though. I will tag Atlassian into this post to see if they can provide some more context / information.

Best wishes

Hi @Valerie Knapp , thank you! Zooming does not help unfortunately. Not sure what do you mean by going "up" exactly though. I tried multiple things and the list is still empty...
