Component slugs - auto-allocate and/or use in URLs?

A couple of small feature requests with respect to slugs - would it be possible to:

1. provide default component slugs (e.g. derived from their name or repository), as often these will be unique already?
2. allow use of the slug in the component URL, e.g. https://myorganisation.atlassian.net/compass/component/my-component-slug

Hi Keith, thanks for your suggestions! We are already working on automatically creating slugs for any components that are imported through our Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab apps, and will let you know as soon as that work is completed. 

I will be adding a backlog item for using slugs in the component URL.

Hi @Keith Furnell , as an update, we've added default slugs to all components imported through our Bitbucket, GitHub and GitLab apps. 

Additionally, slugs in the component URL is a new feature that has now rolled out to all customers if you would like to give it a try.

1. We create components manually rather than importing, so I can't comment on the defaulting ... other than to say it would be good if the same logic could be applied when creating a component (and supplying its repository) through the UI
2. Slugs in URLs look so much better, though FYI in this form smart-links don't work:

It would be good to be able to grab the slug form of a component's URL from within Compass (e.g. for pasting into non Atlassian products), rather than having to assemble the URL yourself. Maybe the display of slug on the Overview page could be presented as a hyper-link for this purpose ?

Hi @Keith Furnell , I had a chance to work on this a little bit and recently pushed a change to enable smart-links for URLs containing slugs. Hopefully this will work for you now.

Is there any intention to apply the same slug defaulting logic when creating a component (with repository) as when importing from a repository?
