Hi everyone,

I've been active in the Atlassian Community for a month and have learned a lot from the discussions here. I'd like to thank everyone who has answered my questions and shared their knowledge.

What advice would you give to newer members who want to contribute more to the community?

I started being active here recently as well, it's been a great experience and people are very helpful here.

I was reticent about actually posting my own questions and articles first and wanted to only respond where I could to other people's posts. But again, people are very helpful and want to help you with your problems, so there's no reason for not posting. That would be my advice for people in a similar situation.

Find and join all the groups you are interested in and start posting.

Welcome! A great way to dip your toes into the Atlassian Community is to join the Likes for Trees 5 campaign (if you haven't already). Have a look at It’s time for Likes for Trees V: help us to plant ... - Atlassian Community for more info and to contribute to a great cause!

Hi @Adedoyinsola_Sanni , welcome to the Community! Posting questions/answers and useful articles (that don't address what's recently been addressed in other articles) is a great way to meet Community members and be involved. Posting about your methods, "wins", and "oh, this didn't go well" examples is always helpful to others. Also, learn as much as you can, including through the Learning Paths and online courses from Atlassian and via ACE events (e.g., online webinars and discussions), to continually improve your answers. Have fun with it!

Welcome @Adedoyinsola_Sanni!

I'd definitely echo @Bobby Taylor and say to join Likes for Trees, but outside of that I'd say to just explore the different Forum groups and join a few that are relevant to you or interest you, then see what questions you can answer or conversations that you can contribute to in those forums.

I'd also keep an eye out for shout outs over in the Watercooler for articles for things like Feel Good Friday and contribute there - it's one of my favourite areas of the Community.

Even I have been active in the Atlassian Community recently, and I'm really thankful. The people here are genuinely good and love helping each other.

Welcome, @Adedoyinsola_Sanni

When I started in the community, it was mostly to look to see if others had already asked/answered the questions that I had. If there was a similar post that wasn't too old, I might add a comment with a follow-up question or my own experience (this happened to me too; I spent hours figuring out this workaround—too bad I didn't see this post first; etc.). If I didn't find something, I would ask my own question here.

With time (and signing up for a daily digest), I found the social posts mentioned by @James O_Connor (whatever happened to Miscellaneous Monday?). I have become the person in my company that monitors the announcements, articles, and release notes to let everyone else know things that might be relevant to them.

Eventually, I learned enough to also answer some questions here and, hopefully, help others out.

EDIT: Someone just posted a comment on this article about the community, so I got a notification and can provide you with a link: https://community.atlassian.com/forums/Welcome-Center-articles/Atlassian-Answered-What-is-the-Atlassian-Community-Find-out-more/ba-p/3128274
