I can't log into Bitbucket on the website, when I try I get the error:

ERROR for site owner:
Invalid domain for site key

I tried private mode and clearing cookies, those don't fix. Chrome works fine.

Hello @lupuchard

The error you're seeing is a Google reCAPTCHA error, not a Bitbucket error. It means the reCAPTCHA widget loaded on the page cannot validate the site key against the domain; this is triggered when Firefox blocks or interferes with the reCAPTCHA script from google.com or gstatic.com.

The fact that Chrome works and Firefox (including private mode) does not, points to Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) blocking the reCAPTCHA domains.

Please try the following steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Disable Enhanced Tracking Protection for the Bitbucket site: In Firefox, click the shield icon in the address bar and toggle off "Enhanced Tracking Protection" for bitbucket.org. Reload the page and test.

  2. Check Firefox network settings: Go to Firefox Settings > Privacy & Security > Enhanced Tracking Protection and switch from "Strict" to "Standard", then reload.

  3. Confirm google.com and gstatic.com are not blocked by any corporate firewall, proxy, or browser extension. These domains must be reachable for reCAPTCHA to function. Try to open the Google reCAPTCHA demo in Firefox and confirm whether it loads.

Hi @lupuchard

Welcome to the community.

So if chrome works fine, it's probably FF related ,are you running the latest version of FF, are there any browser plugins running?

I have just been able to use FF and to login to a free bitbucket site and a paid one.
