I am new to the Bamboo and I am trying to add a bamboo variable value to the email notification that Bamboo sends out when a build is successful or failed.  I have a variable called "branch_name" that I can refer in the bamboo shell scripts as ${bamboo.branch_name}.

But I don't understand how I can add this to the email notification ftl file "notificationCommonsHtml.ftl". Can any one please explain how to achieve this?

I read the following post: https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Bamboo-questions/Customize-Bamboo-email-notification/qaq-p/252956

But I don't get how to map the bamboo variables to the buildSummary or any other variables in the ftl file.

Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid Bamboo variables are not (officially) exposed to the Freemarker notification templates - please watch and vote for the following issue to raise Atlassian's awareness of this obvious feature gap:

That being said, please note that the last commenter asks for "a list of variables that are available to the notification templates" because his experiences seems to be that "Some work, some don't. And it merely seems the ones that work are accidental." - I'm not aware of any myself though, maybe you can ask him for clarification and are lucky that the ones you need are available (I wouldn't put my hopes too high here, though, it's pretty unlikely given the lack of official support).
