Hello,
we created a Jira Product Discovery template which allows us to standardize tickets creation.
However, if people create tickets from Jira, the template does not load.
Is there a way to force it?
Hi Community Champions / Managers,
This JPD question appears to have been mistakenly posted in the automation area. Please move it to the JPD Q&A one. Thank you!
Kind regards,
Bill
Hi @Matteo Pacenti ,
From what I know, this can’t currently be enforced.
The template will load when users create an idea from inside Jira Product Discovery itself, but not when they use the general Create button from Jira. So unfortunately, if people are creating tickets from the standard Jira create screen, the JPD template won’t automatically apply.
So in practice, the only real way to make sure the template is used is to ask people to create those tickets directly from the JPD project instead of from the global Jira create flow.
If you still want some consistency when ideas are created from Jira, the usual workarounds are things like:
making key fields required
using automation after creation
adding guidance in the description or field help text
But as far as I’m aware, there isn’t a setting today that lets you force the JPD template from the standard Jira create experience.
So this looks more like a current product limitation than something you’ve missed in the configuration.
If this helped, I’d really appreciate a Kudos
