Issue Calling Variable

I created a variable (softwareVersion) with the syntax: substring(issue.summary, indexOf("Version ") + 7, indexOf(" ", indexOf("Version ") + 7))

Within the same rule, when I attempt to create a new issue with the variable as the summary title, it displays the whole substring... syntax, not the actual value

Also please post an example of your issue Summary which contains the version.  This will help verify if the parsing syntax is accurate for the variable.
