Is there any documentation on the HTML / CSS that is available in Send Email Action?

I'm using automation to create an HR Summary email that is dropped into an employees record in HR system.
It seems like Jira is scrubbing external style links and <style> tags. I've had some luck with inline styles but that is extremely limiting.
Anybody else running in this issue?
