Hi there,
as the headline suggests, I would like to create assets when certain actions are triggered in Confluence. For example, when a specific template is used in Confluence, an asset should be created. The trigger could also be a manual trigger.
Has anyone tried this before? Are there any approaches?
Kind regards,
J
Hi @Jens
Yes u can, i can think of 2 ways.
1. create an automation in Confluence that when a page is created with a specific template then opens a ticket in a specific project in jira, Then in Jira automation u can create assets based on the info u fetched from the page in the ticket.
2. Create an automation in Confluence with the same trigger but sent a web request to Assets directly to create what u need but u have to be comfortable with APIs.
Yes it can be a manual trigger in confluence visible only to specific users.
Hope this helps!
Hi @Christos Markoulatos -Relational- ,
thanks for your answer!
Thanks for the tip! So it would work via the “detour” with Jira (Confluence triggers ticket in Jira --> ticket triggers asset). Good to know that there is a possibility.
But it's not possible DIRECTLY from Confluence, right (without API)?
Kind regards,
Jens

No i don't see any element for assets in Confluence automation, so web request (Apis) is the only direct solution at the moment
