Your questions answered: Navigating Data Center end of life

Hey Atlassian Migration Program community members,

Recently, we reached out to our Atlassian Champions to see if they had any questions for our product leaders regarding the Data Center End of Life announcement. While we received only a handful of questions, we wanted to share the answers here, along with responses to a few other common questions that have come up since the announcement. We hope this Q&A provides additional clarity and addresses some of the concerns you may have as well. What is the roadmap to have European SecNumCloud compliance available for Atlassian Cloud Apps ?	We’re currently exploring options to ensure the collaboration needs of European organizations that need compliance guarantees like SecNumCloud however, this is not on our short-term roadmap. We’d love to partner with you to better understand your specific requirements and build a path forward together. Please reach out to your account team to discuss your specific requirements. If you do not have an account team, you can get in touch with us here.” We’ve recently announced support for cloud options outside of our commercial multi-tenant cloud - this will lay a foundation to help us offer other deployment options in the future, including sovereign cloud options.
How will you expand data residency in more regions or countries to meet customer expectations from a compliance and legal constraints view ?	At present, Atlassian supports data residency in 11 regions worldwide, including Australia, Canada, the EU, Germany, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States. We are now focused on expanding data residency coverage for new apps as they are released or brought into our platform, and to deepening our support for different types of data support. We are also exploring support for new regions, based on customer demand. Assets - how do you expect mid-market enterprise to achieve Cloud migration without exploding costs. DC with 100 agents moving to cloud, JSM licenses costs are ok. 200.000 assets in DC instance, Cloud estimated cost 100.000 eur per year. Will you review consumption base pricing structure ?	We highly recommend working with your Account Executive or contacting Atlassian sales to develop a thorough value assessment so you can get a full personalized assessment of the business case for cloud and opportunities for savings. In cloud, you’ll get access to more apps, connected by shared, intelligent platform experiences that drive better decision-making, organizational alignment, and individual productivity. Customers have reported savings of up to $2.2 million on a single project thanks to improved developer efficiency in cloud, not to mention savings on point solutions that can be replaced by native features in Atlassian Cloud like Analytics or Whiteboards.
Atlassian Government Cloud - What are your plans to offer this option for Government institutions in other countries than US ? Moving public sector customer from DC to Cloud would be more easy with dedicated options also outside US	As of right now, Atlassian Government Cloud is only available for U.S. government customers and organizations that need to meet U.S. federal compliance standards. However, we are aware of this need and desire for Government Cloud outside of the U.S. Atlassian’s Isolated Cloud offering might be an option for you to consider. Discuss your requirements with your Atlassian representative for the latest updates. We’d love to partner with you to better understand your specific requirements and build a path forward together.
Can you speak to your position on addressing the needs of the public sector?	We have publicly committed to support for Atlassian SaaS on Google Cloud Platform, FedRAMP High, and DoD IL5, and we are currently exploring and working toward several other cloud options that can expand support for regulated customers, like air-gapped cloud and sovereign cloud solutions. Please work directly with Atlassian so we can better understand your specific regulatory context and help you chart a path forward.
Can you explain a bit more about FastShift? How exactly does it help?	FastShift is a complimentary program that helps you accelerate your move to, and adoption of, Atlassian cloud apps, so you can unlock the full benefits of cloud sooner. With FastShift, you can accelerate migrations from 12 - 16 months to just 2 - 6 months. This is because you get: A dedicated FastShift team composed of a FastShift Delivery Manager, Migration Support Engineer, Customer Success Manager, and, for 10K+ migrators, a FastShift sponsor, typically a member of Atlassian’s engineering or support leadership. Hands-on-backup recommended OR over the shoulder support (based on customer preference) assessing their site from a technical perspective, identifying key decisions, and performing test migrations. Advanced migration tools that streamline planning, execution, and monitoring, accelerating migration timelines to minimize downtime, and support complex use cases that meet enterprise needs. Strong partnership with Atlassian, offering direct engagement with engineering and product leadership.
