Best practices for rendering short-form video galleries within Jira issue layouts?

Hello Atlassian Community,

We are currently analyzing developer workflows for teams that use short-form video assets (like TikTok clips or UGC video clips) for product testing, UI/UX feedback, or e-commerce asset management inside Jira.

When attaching or embedding interactive video reels into Jira issues:

• What is the preferred layout for your team (e.g., embedded player widget vs. thumbnail grid)?

• Does your team rely on native Atlassian video preview tools, or do you integrate external video management feeds?

Hi Alovra – Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

For video-heavy issues, I’d generally avoid embedding several active players directly in the issue view. A thumbnail/grid approach with playback on demand tends to keep the issue cleaner and lighter.

Jira Cloud’s native Attachments section already supports grid/list views and filtering specifically for videos, which works well for smaller collections. Loom is also integrated into Jira for recording and attaching video directly to work items.

For larger libraries or UGC workflows, I’d keep the assets in the dedicated video/DAM platform and use links or an integration in Jira rather than treating Jira as the media repository.

So my preference would be: Jira for context and review workflow, external storage for the video library, and thumbnails/previews inside the issue.
