Hello,

My company recently changed my email address from gabriella.ribeiro@bayer.com to gabriella.ribeiro.ext@bayer.com. Additionally, the colleague who was previously responsible for managing our Trello board has left the company.

I need assistance to recover access to the information and boards linked to my old email address. Could you please update my account to the new email address and help me regain access?

Thank you for your support.

Hi @Gabriella Cristina , welcome to the Online Community!

From what I know, access to Atlassian tools are tied to your Atlassian Account. Administrators for an Atlassian Cloud site can take control over all Atlassian Accounts they own via the "Claiming" process. This allows an organization to claim any accounts with a domain they control, and have ownership over those accounts.

In addition, with an Atlassian Guard subscription, administrators can link internal Identity Providers to keep Atlassian Accounts up to date.

I'm going to assume the following:

  1. Your organization has claimed the bayer.com domain
  2. Your organization does not use Atlassian Guard

If those two items are correct, I believe the course of action will be as following:

  • You will need to reach out to your administrator team to find and update your Atlassian Account to use your new email address.

This can be done by visiting admin.atlassian.com, and then navigating to the directory tab. Here, there should be a list of "Managed Accounts". The administrator should find your prior account, and make a change to the email address associated with it.

There is a chance a duplicate Atlassian Account was created for your new email address. If that's the case, you will likely need to change the email associated with the new account to something else, such that your old account can use your new email address.

If you do not know who your Atlassian administration team is, I would recommend reaching out to the Atlassian Support team via support.atlassian.com. They may be able to provide more insight on the actions required.

Hope this helps!

Robert

Here is a guide you can provide your Administrator team that walks them through the step-by-step to update your managed account: https://support.atlassian.com/user-management/docs/make-changes-to-a-managed-user-account/

And here is a more broad support article on how to update the email address on any Atlassian account: https://support.atlassian.com/atlassian-cloud/kb/change-atlassian-account-email-addresses/
